A whole-cloth quilt made of cotton sateen. The artist is heavily influenced by Welsh and English style quilting, a tradition of hand quilting, and she has hand quilted all the elements of this quilt. The Gaches Mansion is stitched with a light brown thread to highlight the building and architectural details. The remainder of the quilt is rendered in an off-white thread forming words and decorative motifs. Heavily stitched motifs next to open areas create a wonderful play of texture. The backing is a floral print. This piece has a knife-edge finish with both edges turned in and has a hanging sleeve.
