Crown of Ruched Roses, Elly Sienkiewicz

Oh, the stitchery you’ll learn making this stunner block! Brilliant shortcuts abound:  Tri-fold stems and assembly-line split leaves; plus speed appliqué from the back. Unique dimensional flowers:  single-fold two-tone shaded cotton roses and “fancy Ruched” double ribbon roses. Elegant embellishment:  three floral centers (embroidered knots, Mrs. Numsen’s fringe, yo-yo) rose moss stitchery, and serrated leaf embroidery. Instructions for advance preparation will be provided on registration. The example block at left was appliquéd and embellished by Elly Sienkiewicz.
