Friday, October 1;Â 9:30am-4pm
Hawaiian quilts, awesome in their symmetry, are surprisingly easy to make. Nancy has been making Hawaiian quilts since 1978; she knows them intimately. In this one-day class, you will have hands-on experience with cutting out a Hawaiian block, basting, and needleturn appliqué. Nancy has designed a tulip pattern to commemorate to the Skagit Valley. Even though you will work on the tulip block in class, you will learn everything you need to make a large Hawaiian quilt. The class is process-oriented, not product-oriented, so will finish the day learning Nancy’s stress-free needleturn appliqué techiniques on a piece of “practice” fabric.Â
