2012 Quilt Festival
Quilt Festival is our largest annual fundraiser and provides vital support for Museum operations.
Our 2011 Best of Show winner was “On the Wings of a Dream” by Caryl Bryer Fallert (see image, above). To see a list of our 2011 Award Winning Entries and all participants click here: Award Winners & Entries.
Call For Entries:
This year, our Call for Entry will include two Divisions: Masters and Open with each Division to be judged separately. We are accepting Traditional and Non-Traditional Quilts in several Categories, along with Wearable Art and Fiber Art. We have added new Bonus Awards this year as well and, along with First, Second, Third & Honorable mention ribbons in all Categories, will award a ribbon for Best of Show, Best Machine Quilting, Best Hand Quilting, Best Eco-Green, and Best Embellished. First place winners in each Category, as well as winners of Bonus Awards, will be featured in a special exhibit at the La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum from October 10 – December 30, 2012. Deadline for entry is June 15, 2012.

Workshops 2012:
Our 2012 Quilt Festival has four days of fabulous Workshops, starting October 4. Our International roster of instructors includes: Robin Atkins, Thom Atkins, Joe Cunningham, Sharon Pederson, Elly Sienkiewicz, and Jane Townswick. Events during the 2012 Quilt Festival
Quilt Walk in La Conner Shops ~ September 1 – October 14, 2012.
Quilt Festival Kick-Off Dinner. Join us at 6:00 pm Thursday, October 4, 2012. What better way to start the Festival that at the La Conner Seafood & Prime Rib House. The Award Winners will be announced after dinner; along with some other fun we have up our sleeves. Treat your spouse, partner, or sewing friends to a delightful evening at the La Conner Seafood & Prime Rib House. Reserve you space early…there’s limited seating and it fills up fast!
Ribbons, Roses, & Women’s Rights: Baltimore’s Albums. Elly Sienkiewicz Lecture. 6:30pm at the Museum of Northwest Art, 121 1st Street, La Conner, WA 98257. $35, includes hors d’oeuvres and beverages. La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum. Exhibits during 2012 Quilt Festival: “At Play: Japanese Quilts” (featuring works by quilt artists from Japan) and “Ainu Embroidery.” The guest curator for both exhibits is renowned Japanese quilter Miwako Kimura.
