“The strands forming our ideas and imagery have been gathered from a myriad of sources,” say artists Linda Rees & Carolyn Price Dyer. “For both artists, the sifting of options, the compiling of materials, techniques and reference points-joined by an engagement with the tactile potential of various fibers-leads to distinctively unique solutions.”
While Linda Rees’ early work is boldly geometric; her recent tapestries reflect a more directly narrative style with the human figure as the subject matter. Carolyn Price Dyer’s work is inspired by nature: crows, seagulls, flowers, and trees appear throughout her work. Carolyn weaves with hand-rolled Chinese paper, and experiments with other elements such as chrysanthemums and poppies to form the weft in her work. Together these artists boast over 90 years of combined weaving experience.
Be sure to join us for their Artist Reception, both Linda and Carolyn will talk about their work. This is the perfect opportunity to meet the two artists and find out more about their inspirations and styles.
